Sponsoring mobile medical vans for those in need

Inadequate health care leads to the death of 20,000-40,000 Americans every year—most of them lower income. More than half of bankruptcies are due to medical bills, with more than 75% of those bankruptcies affecting people who had medical insurance.

Campaign Overview

Inadequate health care leads to the death of 20,000-40,000 Americans every year—most of them lower income. More than half of bankruptcies are due to medical bills, with more than 75% of those bankruptcies affecting people who had medical insurance.

Mobile medical units help those in need, including those who cannot afford a costly visit to the hospital and those without health insurance. These units allow disabled residents or veterans with limited mobility to obtain healthcare services in rural communities year-round.

Mobile medical units are especially valuable in the response to natural disasters such as Haiti and Hurricane Katrina.

Groups such as Good Samaritan Health Services have provided free health care to more than 5,000 people since 2009.
